Reigate and Banstead Police Safer Neighbourhood Team
Dear Residents, Welcome to the Police Update for the last week. The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries, catalytic converter and vehicle thefts reported between the 2nd March 2026 to 9th April 2026. The report also includes information on arrests in the Borough.
Distraction theft has been on the rise! Stay alert. Keep valuables secure. Trust your instincts. Thieves often work in pairs. One distracts you, the other steals from you. Some common items we have noticed being targeted are watches and jewellery, purses and money. Thieves may: Protect yourself:
Car Crime This week there have been 5 reports of theft from cars and 6 reports of attempts to gain access to vehicles. Arrests. There were 40 arrests in the period April 2nd 2026 to April 8th 2026: Domestic Incident/Violent Domestic Abuse 8, Rape/Sexual Offence 1, Drugs 2, Drunk/Drug Charge 2, Violent Crime in a Public Place 3, Violent Crime Other 5, Offensive Weapon 1, Harassment/Stalking 1, Master Occurrence 5*, Child protection 2, Theft 2, Crime Other 1, Criminal Damage 1, None of these 4. Assault on Police 2. *A Master Occurrence is used when recording an arrest where a number of offences are recorded for one incident.
Personal Fraud (Scams) in the Borough. Records show that there have been Four reports of Personal Fraud in the Borough during the last week. The reports included an Rogue Trader (Gutters Cleaned), and Phone call claiming to be from a bank. Burglaries North Between 07/04/2026 03:00. Pitwood Green, Tadworth. Attempted Residential Burglary. Method of Entry – Attempted entry through the backdoor to the property. Stolen: Nothing Taken. (PR 45260040035)
Central Between 03/04/2026 20:00 to 04/04/2026 13:00. Bolsover Grove, Merstham. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Suspects have gained access through the back door of the garage. Stolen: Tools. (PR 45260038720) Between 26/03/2026 12:00 to 06/04/2026 10:30. Doods Road, Reigate. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Forced entry into a secured bicycle shed. Stolen: Electric Bicycle (PR 45260039351) Between 21/03/2026 00:00 to 06/04/2026 00:00. Warwick Road, Redhill. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Access has been gained to the garage. Stolen: Two Bicycles (PR 45260039432)
South 09/04/2026 Between 08:00 to 12:45. Bonehurst Road, Horley. Residential Outbuilding Burglary. Method of Entry – Access has been gained into the garden shed. Stolen: Bicycle. (PR 45260040637)
